Cooking with the Fall Harvest

Science, math, literacy and taste-testing all in one hour of fun! In this study group, we’ll experiment with ingredients, learn where our food comes from, try some new things and enjoy some favorites. Focus will be on fall harvest, and organic and local options will be used when available.

Children with food allergies are welcome to sign up for class, as long as the instructor has adequate time to make ingredient/lesson adjustments.

Designed for children approximately ages 5 and up and/or children who can:

  • listen quietly and participate in a discussion
  • follow directions
  • work in a pair or a small group

Materials fee = no more than $20

Optional field trips to pick fresh ingredients TBA.

Needed: 1 assistant teacher, 2 helpers from the cleanup committee during the last 15 minutes of class
