Moon Phases: What’s Up With That?

How does the moon rotate around the Earth? Why don’t we see the full moon every night when we look up in the sky? What did the ancient people think of the moon’s changing shape? We’ll explore the myths and the science of the moon phases, through hands-on science activities and art projects.

Designed for children who can:

  • work independently to use the scientific method of investigation
  • use age-appropriate motor control to design scientific models
  • follow directions
  • work in a pair or a small group
  • understand and make connections about the concepts discussed

Materials fee = approximately $6 per child to be paid directly to the instructor on the first day of the session
